Mourinho accepts United’s unimpressive show in two back to back defeats

September 16, 2016 by 888Scoreonline

This season seems to have not been going well for the Manchester United that is why after two back to back defeats newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho is not ready to accept they are anywhere behind their goals.

This is true that their home loss to Man City almost led their morale down and then Europa Cup group 1-0 loss to Feyenoord made it sure not everything is not right inside United dressing room and Portuguese boss is trying hard to find and correct the problem before it gets too late. If we look at the last Europa game, United could not impress anyone – neither with its attack nor with its defense – and it was Tonny Vilhena’s late strike that gave his side a decisive lead. Although, United army kept firing on the targets but they missed as many as eight clear chances which shows state of their confidence and how deteriorated it has been in last few days especially after losing to their arch rivals. Talking about the debacle show in last few games and if it would have any negative impact over their morale in upcoming games, former Chelsea boss said, “When we won the Community Shield and the three Premier League matches, I was not on the moon.

“I was not saying that we are a phenomenal team and we are going to destroy every opponent. I always said it was a very good start but I was never on the moon. I know that the situation is not click your fingers and everybody is perfect. But, to be honest, I think we didn’t play phenomenal matches in these two defeats, but in both I think it is a punishment for the team because we deserved more than the results we got.”

Accepting their bad performance in the Europa game, Portuguese claims they did enough to capitalize on the opportunities but could not that cost them full points later, he added, “When you lose matches, there are no miracles in terms of the players’ soul. You win matches and people are happy and full of confidence. You lose matches and people are sad and feel it. That is the normal nature of football players. I am here not to let them be in a negative mood or in a negative because we lost two matches in four days.

“Two matches where we didn’t play well for 90 minutes, but two matches where we deserve a better result.”
