English soccer fans along with clubs top brass have ever been the most impatient who expect almost overnight results whenever they bring in any high profile name into the side. Manchester United is one such side who has passed through several ups and downs ever since former manager Sir Alex retired off the game and since there have been two managers who joined and delivered nothing hence had to be dismissed overnight. Now, when former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is the one who is now entrusted by the ManU bosses to bring back the glorious days but Portuguese seems to be smarter than the highly optimistic fans, and second, he has tested the results of not satisfying the fans during his last Chelsea regime hence he is now asking some time to transform the side from nowhere to the top of English topflight. Former Everton boss also believes it would take some time to pass on the Louis van Gaal era to bring back the days when United used to rule the soccer field during Alex era.
His statement looks like he is aspiring more players, probably more than what he already has in his den, especially after his recent byte: ‘20 new players and start from zero.’ Anyways, ahead of Sunday’s Community Shield clash against Leicester, 53-year-old said, “My teams are different to Mr Van Gaal’s teams. I want to make it clear that I am not saying my teams are better or have better ideas or my principles of play are better. Not at all. My teams are different to Mr Van Gaal, and it is a difficult situation to change the dynamics. It would be easier for me to have 20 new players and start from zero.
“Of course, after two years of work, there are things in their brain that are automatic and that is difficult to change, but we are working hard and the players are trying everything. Of course we make mistakes and we are far from perfection, but they are giving everything to adapt, and step by step my team is going to be my team. Our preseason was strange — good for some players but not enough for others. The number of matches was not enough. The match not played against Man City was really bad for us.
“The week of work, which I can change and say the week of no work, in China was really bad for us, so we need to train and we need to play. We need minutes for the players”
