Mourinho bets for a longer stay at Stamford Bridge this time

January 19, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

Loyalty has its rewards in soccer and everyone is well aware of it, especially top serving officials like coaches and managers. But when someone tries to influence bosses with his repeated media statements, it is considered as flattering and Chelsea’s second term serving manager Jose Mourinho seems to be doing just that to impress Roman Abramovich who owns Chelsea. Everyone knows he had to leave Stamford Bridge last time due to his differences over some matters with the top management and now when he is back in the England he doesn’t want to repeat the past hence taking every step carefully, including his media bytes. He recently said that he would not like to leave Chelsea during his lifetime; in fact, he moved one step ahead and said until Abramovich throws him out he would continue to serve one of the league toppers. It is true that his arrival has proved to be lucky for his team as well and they are among top three for quite some time in the leaderboard, but should a manager of his caliber display his fidelity in public is the big question being asked by everyone. Though, he has also had a successful spell with both Real Madrid and Inter Milan, yet he has always been a fan of North London club and happy to see good results on joining back his old charm.

Factually, he is not the longest running manager under Abramovich, but he wants to be the one; he shared his dream and said, “The record for a Chelsea manager with this owner is three and a half years and I have four-year contract, so hopefully I beat the record. I stay until they want me not to stay. No other club could move me from Chelsea. I think everything should start for a manager with a project of life, with a project of career and I had my career project since the beginning and this is for me.

“I want to do in Italy, I want to do it in Spain, I want to do it in England. I want to try to win all these competitions in these three big football countries. It’s something I want to do, something I want to do during the time my son and my daughter, so we can do it as a family.”

He also agrees that Abramovich’s attitude and behavior towards him has changed significantly from the last time, therefore he sees a bright future at Stamford Bridge this time. He added, “This club has changed now and this is why it was the right time for me to return. The club is more mature, the club is stable, the club knows what it really wants. It’s easy to say what the club wants. The club wants to win.”
