The current season could not be as fruitful as Chelsea’s newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho would have imagined, but anyhow he is quite happy with the way they roamed around the top spots on the leaderboard for last one month along with a semifinal reach into the championship league and who can forget their emphatic win in the FA cup. Former Everton manager looks even thirstier now hence gearing up his shoes to add some killing strength into his army. Yes, he recently declared that he is looking for empathic strikers who could enhance their goal difference in the next season. Some of his shortlisted players include Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa and Fernando Torres as both of them are in brilliant form and truly suit the long term plans of the 51-year-old Portuguese football manager. If we look at the whole conduct of Mourinho during current English Premier League, he was the first one to demine their position when they were on the top citing City’s comparatively lesser played games and openly said, he doesn’t see any reason they should cheer off their standing since City is effectively the leader. Now, both Liverpool and Manchester City are fighting for the title and Manuel Pellegrini side has the better chances to triumph the English title for its better goal scoring average.
Talking about the weakest area of the Blues, promising manager said in an interview that “We have good players, but we don’t have the kind of striker able to, in a short space, to make an action, to score a goal, to open the gate. In these kind of matches you just need to open the gate. When you open the gate, the gate is open and you win much more. We weren’t able to do that.
“We have to try to win as a team, to improve as a team, but also add the attacking player with that killer instinct and the number of goals that push teams to different levels. It’s something our club is going to try, respecting obviously that we have good strikers.”
His words speak launder than him and when he is pointing towards his desires, everyone should take it seriously, especially rival sides who would see a new form of refined attack from Mourinho’s den, and why not, after all he has defeated some of biggest names in soccer this season – not to forget Chelsea’s emphatic wins over both title contenders: Manchester City and Liverpool. Let’s wait and see how upcoming summer transfer window fills his dreams!
