Every year premier league table makes a surprising shuffle among the top rank holders in the last phase of the season and this year is no exception. All the four toppers: Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Liverpool are eager to throw others out of the top four while Tottenham is the side who has lots of potential to surprise Blues to reach onto the top of table, this is what its 29-year-old Belgian footballer Mousa Dembélé believes. If we remember correctly the performance of White Hart Lane side last year, they challenged Leicester City for the title, but somehow collapsed towards the end of the campaign and finished only third after winning just one of their final five matches and experts then were surprised to see their sudden diversion from the right path. Although, they are now having a big nine points trail to the topper Chelsea and since more than half of the season has gone by, it is generally difficult to shrink as much gap when North Londoners are also in their finest form.
Along with, their Tuesday’s 0-0 draw against Sunderland and how Harry Kane blamed referees for defying Lilywhites to become the topper of the board he pointed the incident where Dembele was subjected to a rash tackle by Jack Rodwell. Anyways, talking about his side and how far it can go this year, Mousa Dembélé said, “I think if we end up in the same situation, maybe we can do something special compared to last year. It is difficult to tell, but we have this feeling that we can do something of course.
“I think personally that I and most of us learned from last year. But it’s a difficult thing, you need to be in that situation again to see if we have outgrown that. There is a very good vibe, there’s a difference compared to last year, so yes I think we can do something special in the same situation.”
Adding about the Jack Rodwell incident and if he really deserved a Red Card for that, the Belgium international said, “When I saw the images as well, in my opinion the referee was close enough but we have to respect his decision. Of course, for me there were a few challenges in the game that I felt could have been more.
