Ndlovu in critical condition after car accident

December 17, 2012 by 888Scoreonline

In one of the deadliest car crashes here in Zimbabwe, Former Sheffield United, Coventry and Birmingham forward Peter Ndlovu has been critically injured. The injuries he sustained led him in coma stage along with his brother Adam Ndlovu, who himself was a pro footballer, died in the accident. They were accompanied by a female passenger who is also badly injured in the same accident. Reportedly, three were returning from a holiday resort of Victoria Falls after playing a friendly match between Highlanders Legends and a local team. His brother, Adam, 42, was driving a BMW X5 when its tyres busted and he lost control and veered the car into the trees. His teammates, friends, and family members have twitted about his critical condition and asked his fans to pray for his wellbeing. The star footballer of nineties has played 176 matches for Coventry before leaving for Birmingham. He scored 39 goals in his spell with Coventry. After moving to Birmingham he scored another 28 goals in 137 match appearances for the Blue. He then moved to Huddersfield Town on loan in 2000-1 scoring another four goals in six played games. So, his career spanned across many clubs, and he scored for almost each of them.

His former club wrote on tweeter, “All our thoughts and wishes go out to former Sky Blue Peter Ndlovu and his family. Keep strong Nuddy.” Similar statements were also issued from Birmingham that reads as, “The thoughts of everyone associated with Birmingham City Football Club are with Peter Ndlovu and his family following news of a serious car crash in Zimbabwe. Peter was a very popular player during his time at St Andrew’s and we hope he pulls through this difficult time.” For the time being, he was working as coach of Zimbabwe Young Warriors’ Under 23 team.

Initially, it was just another car accident for everyone, but when images of the car leftovers were revealed by the media, it became a shocking new for all of his fans especially after the death of his brother and his coma stage. Doctors are not confirming anything as yet, so everyone is now hoping for a miracle recovery. Sheffield United, his former club, also issued their statement via their official tweeter account that says, “Our thoughts are with former player Peter Ndlovu, who has been critically injured in a car accident in his native Zimbabwe.”
