Neymar investors want clarity over deal price distribution

June 8, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Recently, Santo’s young starlet signed a big deal with Spanish Club Barcelona at a reported figure of €57 million. The price is too much to be distributed among all the investors of the player, and as par an expectation, broadly, three parties have a stake in the deal price: one is Neymar himself, second one is his father, and third one is his former club Santos. However, Santos share is further dividable into DIS and fellow investors Teisa. Now, one of the investors, who has invested in more than 80 players in Brazil: DIS, has claimed that it is still being kept in dark about how the money, club has received, would be distributed among the key investors. Perhaps, it even threatens to go to Brazilian court to seek the share it deserves. In fact, the amount paid by Barca is known to everyone but other details are still not cleared, like how the money will be paid or if there is any clause to make this happen. Usually, in such a kind of deals, not entire amount is given in one go, perhaps it is released gradually over a specific period of time. Despite a prevailing confusion, neither Barcelona nor Santos is willing to reveal anything about the deal specifics.

DIS Esporte executive director Roberto Moreno recently demanded the details of the negotiation, he said, “It was in the contract that we should be informed about the negotiations. I am going to wait one more week and then I will open a case in court to get access to the information.” DIS Esporte also claims to have a 40% right in more than 80 players which include Neymar also hence they should be given a 40% of the deal amount. On the other side, media in Brazil is reporting that Santos and its fellow investors would only receive €17.1 million and remaining amount would be distributed to Neymar and his father, though there is no official confirmation is made to this story.

Another point of confusion is a €10 million down payment that was paid by Blaugrana last year and disclosed into their financial reports. Investors also want clarity over that money and whether it is a part of current deal. To clear the confusion over that money, Neymar’s father said, “That money was to buy the share of DIS, but that did not work because they did not want to sell. They always made the negotiations difficult. Barcelona’s interest already existed, but we did not receive anything in advance. I do not know what happened with that money.”
