Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks in no hurry to bring it ace midfielder Jack Wilshere back who has been sidelined since March 3 after reporting his ankle problem. His injury took more than expected time in healing which also includes a rehabilitation session back in Dubai, but despite all this, he is not available to play for Arsenal citing more time required to fully recover from his ankle bone injury. Manager confirmed that Wilshere still stands where he was three weeks ago hence he needs some more time in getting back into his shoes. He also reminded midfielder’s history with his ankles and his medical team’s advice not to call him in a hurry. Citing his health concerns, Wenger did not want to name a date for his return; however, he is confident that midfielder will soon be back with his club in its Champions league march. When asked about probability of Wilshere return for Saturday’s match at the Emirates, Wenger said,
“Wilshere’s injury is not better or worse. It was an inflammation of his bone and we had such history with him we are a bit more cautious than we would be with you or with me,” said Wenger this morning.
“We deferred a little bit his rehab by one week. We gave him one more week rest because it was wise medically to do it. Honestly, it’s very difficult. I believe in two weeks on Sunday, that means not the next game, the game after.”
“We will rest him when it is needed. He has regular scans and as soon as we have an alert we will respect it no matter what is at stake. Jack had a difficult moment of course when you told him because he didn’t feel any special pain, but he knows he has to take care of his future. because he is a very young player, I think he accepts it.”
Off late, some Arsenal players, who were injured, made appearance for England national team in world cup qualifiers which is a major problem for manager, coz this way; his players will be vulnerable for more severe injuries, however, Wenger sidelined any dispute with English manager over this, he said, “I have no conversation with the manager, especially when it’s a competitive game. When they fight for points, he uses the players like he wants to. I don’t interfere in that. When it’s a friendly, you try to influence a bit in your favour when it’s needed. I believe that every manager does that.
“It is more communication between the two medical departments because you have to send the player away who is already half injured, but still plays.”
