Now Rodgers expresses his pleasure over Liverpool performance at home

February 24, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

Liverpool’s striking victory over Swansea not only gained them a space in sports media headlines but also a berth in Championship league next season which can easily be labeled as the best achievement for manager Brendan Rodgers residing at Anfield. This is the same team that has been criticized by every notable not only for losing their touch to score goals but also for losing their grip over top leaderboard position again, in fact, they were once on the top and now they are at number four. This could not be satisfying news for Liverpool fans, but those who follow The Invincibles, know how good they have been in last few matches. Once, they were likely to be debarred off top five positions but somehow they could manage to improve their performance and getting the rewards in form of a legible entitlement for the biggest European league. After Suarez, now its time for Northern Irish football coach to applaud his team’s great afford to sustain their ranking in world soccer. He proudly accepted that his team can goal and if they continue breaking opponent defense similarly, they can surly score well in Europe front as well.

Talking about their rejuvenated moral after Swansea victory, he said, “We know we can score goals and if we’re not having one of our better days we have the character and resilience to keep fighting. The strong part of our game came through. Our offensive game is very aggressive and we’ve got goals in the team but we’re disappointed with the goals we conceded.”

Nonetheless, he can enjoy not being on the radar for a possible tittle winner, hence can better concentrate on his strategies rather worrying about how they can triumph the English topflight, still he is confident to end current English campaign with happy notes if they could continue what they shown at the Anfield on Sunday. Adding about their title hopes, he said, “We’re just focusing on winning games and no-one’s really talking about us for the title. Everything’s about Chelsea, City and Arsenal. We’ll continue trying to improve. We’ve been outstanding this season but we’ve still got 11 games to go and there’s a lot of work to do.”

This is obviously a good news for a team who has been on the target of various sports pundits for losing thirst for English title as they now look equality keen not only for English but for European title as well. Let’s see how they start their UEFA campaign next season!
