This is common in English soccer where if a manager is praising any player of another side, it is assumed he is playing mind game for an upcoming game, but if anyone, who is known to be having a sharp eye, finds any player promising and also praises him in front of the world, it means, that player is going to be one of the greats. Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini generally does not talk about other players or their striking force but Arsenal’s Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is someone who he could not ignore and openly appreciated for his fighting spirit. The 26-year-old Sanchez has 17 goals along with eight assists to his name and still counting with great stamina and this is something that is luring the Chilean manager. The former Barcelona star is not only on the radar of City coach, but other English sides have also commended him off late. Pellegrini called him the biggest English superstar of the future and appreciated his gradual improvement game after another.
Some experts are calling it the pressure of playing with stars like Messi that never led him play with his full caliber at Camp Nou hence Blaugrana sold him for 35 million pounds last summer while few are calling it a great skill of Arsène Wenger who picked him at the right time. Anyways, everything is good if it ends in good and that is why Pellegrini did not shy calling him upcoming star. What he said in his recent interview, is, “I see him making a great effort game after game, showing a big commitment and with ambition and maturity to want to keep progressing year after year. I am very happy for him, as at the moment he is the big star of English football.
“Alexis has gone along progressing, and his spell at Barcelona was very useful. Also he was able to share a dressing-room with great players for some years. The only you could criticise Alexis for him during his career was that he did not score many goals. He was not a goalscorer. But he has improved notably in this over recent years.”
Despite of what is being said about the youngster on a public platform, it is not going to be easy for Sánchez to continue his shining form as English mentors are infamous for distracting good players from soccer and City boss is not an exception, however, it is wise to take 61-year-old’s good words as the inspiration for the second half of English season!
