PFA faces the heat on Suarez issue

April 30, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Uruguayan footballer Luis Suarez is in the news these days for his noble act of shame when he bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield. Though, he got a ten matches’ ban for his shameful act on the field, yet fans are not willing to spare him in any way. Player of the year awards were honored last night at the Grosvenor Hotel in Mayfair, central London. During the ceremony, Suarez name was hooted not once but twice and this incident captured media attention more than who won what. PFA actually included his name in the EPL team of the year, and for that reason, PFA was widely criticized when it refused to minus his name. The ceremony was filled with soccer’s notable professionals from around the world and if during such a gathering Suarez name is being hooted, it means a lot. More importantly, he is not only in the EPL team of the year, but he is also the runner up for player of the year title after Gareth Bale who won the title this year in both player of the year and young player of the year categories.

Manchester United contributed a maximum number of players to EPL team of the year with as many as four players into it. Out of these four players, Robin van Persie is most notable name coz he scored a maximum number of 25 goals this season to crown his club EPL title. While on the other side, United’s arch rival Manchester City only contributed one player: Argentinian right-back Pablo Zabaleta into the team of the year. Other contributors to the team are Chelsea whose two players are included and Everton whose one player Leighton Baines is in the list.

PFA role as far handing Suarez’s biting issue is widely condemned where they did not care who did what on the field, coz according to them, they only gave importance to players’ performance during last season, and this is something that is scratching fans around the globe. An act of physical violence including an act of biting should never be excused and that is why he has been slapped with a ten matches’ ban which has debarred him for most of the matches of the first phase of next season.

Anyways, at the moment, Suarez is in the list declared by PFA last night and he will be there coz there are no signs of his removal amid a protest by booing his name inside the reward ceremony.
