Manchester United’s latest target Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos seems to have become an eye candy for every expert that is why, every day, at least one statement is coming out from an expert who has been associated with Spanish giant and has observed him closely in the past. Now, its turn of Real’s former assistant manager Paul Clement who applauds Van gaal target and says Spaniard is going to be a major boost for the Red Devils in upcoming league season. If we look at last few developments, at least one thing is sure, i.e., Ramos is not going to be a cheap affair for the Manchester giant despite the fact that Dutchman has long been associated with the player when he used to mentor the Santiago Bernabéu side. Calling 29-year-old as the best centre-back in the world, Clement recalled the days when he used to be second in command of Carlo Ancelotti’s side who triumphed 2014 Champions league title. The last attempt made by the Old Trafford was rejected instantly by the Spanish side citing amount offered in the bid was too low. Reportedly, United think tank is revising the proposed amount for the midfielder and trying to match it with asking price of the Rafael Benítez side.
Blaming Real for not able to convince the player to sign an extension for them, Clement cited it is going to be a big advantage for the Red Devils if they could bring him in England and said, “He is a wonderful player, one of the best I have ever worked with. (He’s having) so many qualities, (and) a fantastic footballer, leader, competitor, athlete, a fantastic guy. He is one of the best centre-halves in the world and I’ve worked with some good ones like John Terry, Thiago Silva at PSG, good ones in Pepe and Raphael Varane but Ramos is up there with the best I’ve worked with.
“Whether at Real Madrid or United, either club are going to massively benefit. Wherever he is, it’s going to a massive plus for that club.”
If we look at a poll conducted just now by Spanish newspaper AS asking fans how would they react if Ramos is allowed to leave the side, surprisingly, around 55 percent agreed to let him go where he wants to. So, we should believe that second attempt to be made by English giant would surely end in a success and we’ll see him shaking his legs in the English premier league next season!
