Real Madrid replaces Barcelona on the top in La Liga

February 23, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

La Liga seems to be copying English Premier League with more than one probable to take the crown this season. Until now, Barcelona has been ruling the leaderboard but their arch rival Real Madrid replaced them when they crushed Elche by 3-0 at home. It was their tenth victory this season that mounts a pressure over Barca and Atletico Madrid for prestigious Spanish title. Though, the scorecard shows game would have been an one sided affair, but on the contrary, it was rather a pressing attempt from Real, in fact, they failed to impress in the first half an hour but thankfully they could manage to control each area of the field later on with their world class army. Opener of the game came from Illarramendi in the thirty fourth minute and last year’s La Liga runner up sustained their lead for remaining first half. Second half was also a dramatic affair where both sides tried their best to overcome opponent with scattered deployment of best players, but it was world priciest player Bale who could find the gap with his outstanding long-range shot to take the scorecard 2-0 in the seventy first minute. It was now just a formality as Real started attacking severally to increase victory margin, while on the other hand, Fran Escribá’s side tried to shell off some lead but they could not and Isco completed the formality with one more goal in the eighty first minute.

Real Madrid is now leading their arch rival by three good points while Atlético Madrid has played one less game to them and trailing by three points as well. The most significant performance of the game was Bale who could not control the ball confidently in the first half, but in later part of the game, he proved why he is the priciest player in contemporary soccer. Victory margin could have been more extensive had Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo been a part of the game but they were out for different reasons, but anyway, Real never let their absence affects them psychology and triumphed their rivals in style.

Real’s victory is more noticeable coz their arch rival sustained a shocking 3-1 loss to Real Sociedad just recently; hence they could fill the top space vacated by Barca. It was the last match of Ronaldo’s three matches’ suspension, therefore Carlo Ancelotti side would now come up with their full strength in upcoming matches which is not a good news for other probables of the Spanish title.
