Rio unofficially axed from Manchester United

February 11, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

Recently, some media sources revealed that legendry United defender Rio Ferdinand has confirmed his retirement to the manager; his dissent with the new top management has since been in the news. In fact, many debates were since conducted to discuss the fallout of this high profile departure and every time new manager called it a mutually agreed decision sidelining any difference in the making. Now, when United team is getting ready for their next match, this 35-year-old defender was nowhere in the training camp which means he would not be a part of the team. However, club sources are accusing his injuries responsible for his absence, but many of his well-wishers are aware of what would have been cooking at the backyard. Manchester United is indeed way behind on the leaderboard and nobody sees any practical chance to see them back in the English topflight, but anyway, Ferdinand departure is obviously a significant news coming out of United den coz he is among the most experienced players in the team and his inclusion could have defined their strategy for remaining matches.

Actually, he has not played any match since last November for his injury which is taking more than expected time to heal, and after he hinted a retirement, experts are calling it an end of his career at Old Trafford. If we look at the experience residing in United squad, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, and Giggs have played more than 2000 premier league games together and according to some recent stories, all of them are going to be axed post this season. However, neither Moyes nor any other high profile official has said anything about these departures, in fact, Alex substitute is even calling them an important part of his optimistic plans for the rest of the season.

Actually, this is a harsh reality where every growing teammate is being considered as the surplus asset and this trend is more prominent among English clubs who are more youth oriented. Under these circumstances, this is a big achievement that Ferdinand could play for defending champions for so long. Moyes applauded Rio contribution and said, “Rio has made a great contribution, especially in the first half of the season. I played him in nearly all the opening eight to 10 games. He was a big part in helping me to settle. He has competition at centre-half but he is very much valued and looked at as one of the senior players.”
