Rodgers intelligently undermines their good start this season

November 2, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Generally, it is believed in soccer that a win can make you overoptimistic and then you may start issuing exaggerated statements in the media which sometimes go against you and you have to face the consequences in case you lose the future games. But there are many intelligent of this game who understand this probability; hence they remain low profiled until the end of an event. This time, this intelligency is being shown by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers who doesn’t want his fans create lots of expectations from him or his renovated team. Though, they are winning in the league season, still he avoids issuing any hyperbole statements until the series finishes in their favor. Notably, this is probably the first time in last two decades when Liverpool is being taken as the title winner as their last triumph was twenty three years ago. Despite seeing growing hopes from him and his team, Rodgers is still asking for more time to take the English topflight back to Anfield.

His statement could be a heart broken for many especially those fans who are jubilant to see a brilliant start of The Reads after a long period of time while many are taking his words in an opposite direction and happily getting what he is trying to ‘say.’ The 40-yearl-old manager particularly informed club owner John W Henry who would have been expecting a celebration at Anfield after his baseball team Boston Red Sox won the World Series. Rodgers said, “Congratulations to the owners of the Boston Red Sox. It is very clear that they are a group who had a plan to get that success. It is brilliant for them and another demonstration of an organization which is proven to be successful and I am aware of the changes they have made in order to bring that success.

“But it takes that little bit longer in this sport. Liverpool is about winning trophies and that expectancy is always here. I believe we are in a good place at the moment, but it will take time.”

He also talked about their biggest opponent this season Arsenal and praised them ahead of their showdown on Saturday, “Arsenal are a top team and the competition this year is very close. But I believe we are in a good moment having started this season as we would have wanted. We have started strongly, have put a marker down showing we are going to be consistent and I think we can only get better from here.”

So, let’s see how his intelligent media bytes deliver this season and if he can end the title drought for maximum European Cups’ title winner.
