As former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is getting closer to sign a deal with Manchester United, he has again become the hottest news in town and why not after all he is the one who has ever been successful leading any English side at least on his debut spell. Moreover, his former associates, who have recently played under his mentorship, are also happy to have another opportunity to play under their former great if he attempts to bring them at Manchester and 22-year-old sensational Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku is the one who is eager to play under his former boss especially after his father recently made it clear he is aspiring to play either for Manchester United or Bayern Munich after his current contract with Everton expires post summer. If close sources are to be believed, Mourinho has finalized a formal offer for Lukaku that would carry approx. £30 million pay package if Lukaku decides joining the English side despite the fact that he himself is not being made official by the ManU as Van Gaal replacement.
Talking about his future in England, Lukaku seems optimistic about his former boss and if he would add him again in his starting eleven, he said in an interview, “Of course. Some people will say that I need to convince him but it’s not a question of that. Three years ago I was 20 and I wasn’t ready to be immediately effective in a top team. Several good seasons, including the current one, have changed the situation. I’ll be 23 and I could leave this summer.”
Moreover, there is only one hindrance in his United switch, i.e., Red Devils are not qualified for the next Champions League for their sixth place in the premier league table and 22-year-old has long been aspiring to play in the European topflight so if he joins United giant he would have to wait for one more season to play therein which is enough to divert his attention towards Allianz Arena side, he added reacting on his father statement, “I understand why he said that. When I was small, they were two teams that impressed me with their attacking strength.
“Then they’re teams that he likes a lot. We’ll see what happens. Whatever happens, it’s always nice to be linked with such clubs. That’s the proof that they’re watching me. The rest is my agent’s business.”
