Manchester United seems to be most talked about side this season with a new headline in the leading sports dailies every other day. Sometimes, media guys cover its manager Gaal while most of the time, it is about the confident statements by any former United great who shows his immense confidence in the newly crafted side to give their best in the current league season. But this time, we are talking about something that is almost impossible to think by anyone; yes, we are talking about a recent statement by none other than former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon who said that former priciest player Cristiano Ronaldo could move back to Manchester United. Prima facie, it looks nothing but an aftermath of Ronaldo’s recent media bytes where he showed his disparity over club’s decision to release some players just to balance their financial statements in tune with the FFPs, but if we look at the recent stories headlined in the leading sports dailies, 29-year-old Portuguese is not happy with the way Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria were sold hence many started thinking he must be having some disturbance at the top and could look for the second home.
However, Real’s current president has said that there is nothing wrong in the backyard and Ronaldo is as eager to play for the Viking as he has always been but everyone still wants to know what is actually cooking in the dressing room. Calderon said in a recent interview that “My impression is he is fed up with the policy of the current president.
“When he came with Robben he thought he would be a good colleague for him in the team. Two years ago, it was Higuain that was sold, and he didn’t like that. Last year, he thought it was a mistake to let Ozil leave — and the last straw was selling Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria this summer.”
Rumors around former United forward also fueled with a recent statement from The Red Devils, that they also desire to resign their star striker if Real decides to relieve him, in fact, they were apparently happy to shell out a record breaking fee thanks to Gaal who looks desperate to bring FIFA Ballon d’Or award winner to Old Trafford. Calderon further added, “When I signed him in 2008, I remember he said he was grateful to Manchester United. He had a marvellous time there — he likes everything. It is a really great club.”
