Cristiano Ronaldo has been a superstar as far his performances and soccer skills are concerned, and that is why he has also been on the media coverage ever since he hinted he wanted to return back to United. Some media houses also revealed about his backend spat with Real bosses about a contract extension on his terms, but the think-tank at Santiago Bernabéu never, until now, came forward and said anything confirmed about whether they would be offering him an extension or resell their once highly priced eye candy. But now there is something to cheer for both Ronaldo and his fans coz he has officially been offered an extension that will tie him with Spanish giant until 2018, or it means; he would retire from Madrid Football Club. Notably, his record of being the priciest player in the world has been broken by none other than his teammate Bale last week, so a pressure was also building on the forward to decide his future career. Though, the exact terms of extension are not yet known, but according to some reports, he would be getting an annual salary of £14.25m for his services to La Liga club. Performances wise, he has the finest strike rate of scoring one goal every match he played for the Los Blancos which helped them win 2011-12 title along with two more domestic silverwares.
This is the same Ronaldo who recently said via his twitter account that he is still waiting for an extension and later news of his link-ups with his former club came into the limelight which clearly indicated something fishy behind the scene, but fortunately, he finally gets what he had ever expected from The Vikings. Expressing his loyalty toward Real and his connections with EPL defending champions, he said, “Manchester United is the past. Real Madrid is now my home. I hope that I’m here until I retire. This is a great club. I respect all the clubs who ask about me. But they always know that my decision, that my only goal, is to be here and to play at this club until, maybe, the end of my career. I’ll be here five more years. I just want to win trophies for this club.”
Florentino Perez also joined him in the press meet and added, “We have made the dream of all Madridistas. Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid will remain forever. (This is) a great day “
