Manchester United could have had a shoddy English premier league this season but they are as good in FA Cup as they have ever been hence it is obvious captain Wayne Rooney would target at least this title into their hall of fame. The 29-year-old skipper expresses his belief they can win FA title convincingly. He said this after having spent some eleven seasons playing for the Red Devils and in these years, he tasted the wins across all major events that include five League titles, two League cups, and one European trophy but he still has to taste FA Cup and this season looks closer to bring the most awaiting title for the English captain. United is up against Arsenal for a place among the last four and Rooney believes they can easily not only enter into the last four but can as well surprise everyone by holding his first career FA Cup. Talking about the upcoming quarterfinal, he said, “We have an FA Cup quarterfinal against Arsenal on Monday and that is massive for us. We haven’t been to a final for a few years, we want to try to win that game and we are looking forward to that.
“Of course, I think it is a massive trophy. It is a trophy that, growing up as a youngster, I used to love watching and I was fortunate enough to see Everton lift the FA Cup in 1995 when I was nine years old. It is something which I would love to do and hopefully it can be this year.”
If we look at the United’s lineup, they are much stronger than Arsène Wenger side on paper but can Gaal’s first team consisting world class players recollect their form is yet to be seen. Anyways, Ashley Young, the in-form midfielder is obviously the player to look for after his only winner against Newcastle on Wednesday. Praising his form United’s Dutch mentor said, “He is a player who wants to perform what you say. I think he fits good in my profile. We have played also with wing-backs and I think that is his best position. Now I use him as a winger and he does a very good job. I am pleased with him.”
At the time of writing this story, no details of final line up is available yet as per close source Gaal is willing to carry on his experimental field placement by deploying his skipper at the midfield.
