Ever since former Everton manager David Moyes has made a shift to Old Trafford, he has faced many players’ grieves over their future at United. Wayne Rooney is one such player who has been a point of discussion ever since new manager has taken his job, in fact, his existence at EPL champions has been a kind of flip flop since former manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed about his formal request to leave the club. Now, after taking the charge of his new club, former Everton boss is willing to keep Rooney, who has played with him at Everton, with him. Notably, Moyes and Rooney have played together before the forward made a move to EPL club back in 2004. Now, sources say that striker is going to have a meet with new manager over his future at United and probably to have a desired revision in his running contract. In recent past, under Ferguson’s reign, he has been asked to leave the club back in 2010 and since then he has been linked with several clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG, but none of them ever publically disclosed their interest in the forward. Even before Ferguson’s exit, Rooney has had some private discussions with former manager but nothing could come out with a happy note. Now, when his former manager is right here, chances are Rooney will get an opportunity to relive his remaining contract playing for the Red Devils.
Actually, when Rooney did not appear in the final home match of Ferguson, everybody started talking about his confirmed exit from United, but when he joined the EPL celebrations along with whole team, it looked like something positive has been done in the background. But since then, no positive news came out of player’s den and when Moyes took charge of his new club, his fans started counting on his continuance at Manchester United.
It doesn’t mean that Moyes and Rooney have never had any differences, perhaps both of them have shared some bitter relationship in the past especially when Rooney wrote something negative about him in his book – for which he had to pay financial damages as well. Since that episode, both of them never indicated any differences on a public platform. If everything goes as predicted, Rooney will get some of his demands accepted by the new manager while manager would also like to have some changes in his contract terms. Let’s wait and watch how and with whom Rooney enters into next year’s EPL season.
