Under 21 player Scott Allan, who plays for West Bromwich Albion and Scotland is accused by the police to have hit a Pedestrian while he was driving his luxurious £50,000 Audi Q7 in Southsea on Waverley Road, Portsmouth at 8.50 pm on Friday evening. The pedestrian, who is reportedly in a very critical condition, was taken to the nearby Southampton General Hospital but his condition remains critical at the moment. The 20 year old, who is on a loan at League One side Portsmouth, was seemingly reversing his car when it struck over a Pedestrian. His club Portsmouth FC has refused to comment anything about the incident, however it confirmed that player is not involved in any accident. Neil Weld, media manager of Portsmouth FC said, “We know there has been an incident that took place last night but the club cannot currently make any further comment on that.”
Scott Allan shifted to the West Bromwich Albion from Dundee United at a descent £300,000 amount in January for his two and a half year deal, and at the moment, the midfielder was playing for Portsmouth on one month’s loan. He has also been a part of the Scotland national side at under-21 and under-17 levels. Besides, he has also played 15 times while on loan at Pompey last season. Anyways, the car crash incident is being investigated by the police but it is very much unlikely that police will lay down any charge against him; police is also not appeared to be interested in questioning with any eye witness at the moment. Though, Allan has been questioned the police regarding the incident.
Police spokesman said about the incident as, “The pedestrian is a man from the Southsea area, and was seriously injured and treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to QA Hospital in Cosham. He was later transferred to the neurological unit at Southampton General and remains in a critical condition.” Moreover, it has apparently been assumed by the police that driver remained unharmed in that accident, and as a routine investigational step, Police has appealed to all civilians to come forward if any of them has anything material for the case.
Let’s see how this case is being investigated by the authorities, and until then; we hope for the well beings of that on the road injured pedestrian.
