Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to remain low profiled next month ruling out any new sign up to strengthen the Red Devils. Notably, there are many players who were being linked to United in last few months, including Robert Lewandowski, Theo Walcott and Wilfried Zaha among others, but now they all seem to be better placed where they are. Ferguson side is leading the leaderboard’s table this year at English Premier League by six points to its next follower Manchester City, so there is no need to hire anyone afresh, Ferguson said. Not to forget the re-entry of United’s captain Nemanja Vidic who played for the first time on Saturday after a lengthy layoff from the field coz of his knee injury. Ferguson praised his comeback and said, “I’m delighted Vidic is a back – he’s a warrior. It will take him time to get full match fitness but it is a start. Hopefully by the time new year is over we’ll still be top of the league.”
Actually, nobody is buying what Ferguson is saying right now, coz he is a genuine soccer mind who knows when to explore things in his favor. So, it would be interesting to see if he really keeps his money in his pocket and remained a spectator in January transfer window, coz he is the same man who restricted his team to watch any of Manchester city’s game just to ensure his teammates could concentrate on their game only. His defender Phil Jones said about this, “We didn’t watch the City game beforehand – we weren’t aware they had won, the gaffer would have been but we weren’t. We just focus on the game – that’s the gaffer’s rules.”
Ferguson’s strict disciplines pay back him when United defeated Sunderland on Saturday by 3-1 and maintained its six points lead in the leaderboard. There is a rumor all around that says, he could target an attacking midfielder this January, but since he himself is not willing to quote anything about that, everyone is just staring on him for his next move. Leighton Baines was among few players who were targeted by Ferguson in the past, but coz his price was too high to accommodate him in the team. Another choice could be Robin van Persie who has been praised by Ferguson many times in the past. So, let’s see whom he signs a cheque on this January!
