Every time we have a big clash in English premier league, organizers along with top brass of both the sides involve start getting worried about the possible behavior of the fans inside the stadium and if they would show any disrespect to the visitors if they are winning.
Over the years, the behavior of the fans has been a great cause of concern especially if hosts are losing and to take this issue with more seriousness than ever, both Liverpool and Manchester United, who are going to have an Anfield clash this Tuesday, have issued a joint statement warning the meddlers in a harsher tone that if anyone of them found indulged in any kind of discrimination, he would be ejected off the stadium immediately. The precautionary measures are being taken after their last meeting during a two-leg Europa Cup clash last season when both clubs were fined €40,000 by UEFA, half of them suspended for a probationary period of two years after severe crowd disturbances including ‘illicit chanting,’ and to avoid anything like this happens this time too, both the sides have issued a statement that says, “Both clubs, their supporters and football fans around the world are looking forward to this historic and passionate match between two of the sport’s biggest and oldest rivals.
“There is great rivalry between our fans, and we ask all supporters to be respectful and help eradicate all forms of offensive and discriminatory behaviour from the game. If any supporters are found to be engaged in any form of offensive or discriminatory behaviour by stewards or via CCTV, they will be immediately removed from the stadium, risk arrest, prosecution and be reported in accordance with the club’s ground regulations.
“This is an unrivalled fixture in the Premier League calendar and we thank all fans for their continued support in this important area of the game.”
United boss Mourinho also asks fans to show some respect to the fans by not involving in hated conversation with each other, he too said, “In football we have some football tragedies, if you can say that, which is a big match that you lost, the mistake that some player did, this kind of thing, and you can make fun of it in a positive way. But the human tragedy is something much more serious. It’s the last thing somebody should use in a football pitch because they were really big tragedies, not to forget but to respect. I will be really sad in such a big football match if that was a negative point.”
