There is a great concern within everybody by recent growing complaints of racism, and every one of them has his own solution to curb this rising demon. Many say; monetary fine is the only way to restrict players using racial comments while others think otherwise. Recently, many victims of racial exploitations have said that there is no willpower to eradicate this evil else it would not be possible for anyone to repeat these cases. Former Arsenal and France midfielder Patrick Vieira has now suggested a unique way to handle abusive comments on soccer field, and that is, via points cut or banning altogether. Actually, despite his long playing career; he never faced any racial abuse from any player. Perhaps, the member of French world cup winning squad has played in many leagues including English premier league, but never see anything wrong happened to him. Then, how the racial cases are now happening one by another? Actually, it has now become a deep rooted problem, and its extinction would also take some time, but results would be clearly visible if Vieira’s suggested line of actions gets implemented.
The 36 year old legendry midfielder has more suggestions in store for leading soccer governing bodies, including FIFA, UEFA, and English FA. The current French’s youth setup manager evidently supports the stringent action against anyone who found guilty of racial comments, including physical posturing on anyone. He said to a British newspaper The Times, “If you really want to fight racism, if you really want to show to the world that football wants to fight against it, you will have to use a deduction of points against clubs or kick them out of competition.
“That will stop it, of course. If you kick a club out of Europe because they couldn’t control their fans, it will happen once and I will guarantee it’s not going to happen twice.
“If nothing is done, the situation will get worse and worse and you never know where things will go.
“Before we get to a place where you can’t control it any more, you have to stop it straight away and the only way you can stop it is to have clear, strong punishments.
“Of course, we all need a second chance, we all need to realise that we are doing something wrong, but if you do it again, the punishments should be really hard,” he added.
