Soccer is an entire world in itself where relations keep building and knocking every other day, in fact, it is very common to see a player, who has until been criticizing his club, becomes a loyal fan of the same club and starts praising it surprisingly. Take an example of 26-year-old Uruguayan footballer Luis Suarez who has been a dissenting football until few months ago, actually, he publically called for an interesting bid for a makeshift, but then Liverpool did something in the backyard and offered him an extension and then things start changing completely. Recently, the forward showed his immense satisfaction staying at Anfield and now he again comes forward and expresses his belief that Liverpool can be the league champion this season. Though, The Reds are comfortably staying on the third spot with twenty points out of their first ten played matches this season, but more importantly, this season’s leaderboard is unexpectedly lacking last time’s champions anywhere on the top. Many are calling it a correction period where teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool are regaining their lost pride while high profile teams like Manchester United and Manchester City are losing their touch.
Though, Liverpool lost to Arsenal this weekend, but still former Ajex player believes his team can continue their winning streak as they have been doing until now. Actually, fans have lots of expectations from Brendan Rodgers and his army of rejuvenated players who have been impressive this season. Suarez discussed about this in a radio interview and said, “The expectation is huge. This season we started well, with the desire and hope. We do not have to compete in the European Cup which allows us to concentrate 100 per cent on the championship. The Premier League is very tight this season and anything can happen against anyone.”
He also recalled his recent flip-flop with Liverpool and called them settled now. He said, “When I was separated, the players told me they didn’t like that and wanted me to be with the group. Today I feel very supported by my team-mates, and I appreciate their support.
“The support of the fans was also very important. I always could walk on the street with no trouble. I was never threatened or anything like that – the people told me to stay. I feel part of things at Liverpool. It is my home. I am comfortable and happy here – I work hard for Liverpool and I will always be thankful to the club, and to my team-mates.”
