It is always a big shock to miss a player who has been in a good form off late and his absence becomes even more harmful if World Cup is nearby. This is something that is being happened with Uruguayan national soccer team who is obviously one of strongest contenders to lift the title. Recently, Uruguayan FA announced Suarez has damaged meniscus from his left knee which requires a small surgery but lots of recovery time, and when they said it, fans became skeptical whether Player of the Year award winner would be able to start the Brazilian campaign with his national side, but fortunately, now, news is coming that he is recovering faster than ever and hopefully will be fit by the time World cup kicks off. Notably, Suarez ended last premier league season playing with Liverpool dreamily, in fact, his form in the English season raised many expectations from the forward to perform similarly for his national side too, but when he reported to have pain in his knee during a training session with national squad on Wednesday, doctors advised to undergo through a scan and then came to know his knee’s meniscus is damaged.
Nulling all the negative reports about his availability in the world cup, Liverpool forward said, “Be calm — I am going to get there. Thanks for all your support. I am going to work really hard in the coming days to be at 100 percent and help my teammates!” As per his medical team, with the pace is healing his injury, he can recover fully within a fortnight – much ahead of kick off deadline of the Brazilian world cup. Confirming his earlier recovery, AUF president Wilmar Valdez also added, “We know the surgery was a success and that the injury is not serious. We have to wait and see how he recovers. We had very little time to react and, without knowing the extent of the injury, we didn’t want to raise the alarm to the public.
“These are injuries that, considering Suarez’s fitness and if the recovery is good, will not take long for him to return to play. We have to calculate if he will arrive for the first, second or third. We know that normally the recovery period, if all goes well, is around 15 days to return to training. We all know what Luis represents to the national team and more so, considering the great form he was in. Considering how valuable he is to the national team, it is a big concern for us.”
