Sunderland interim boss wants to be permanent

September 26, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Sunderland

League club Sunderland, who could not start a dream run this season and residing on the bottom, could be the next Chelsea for its temporary boss Kevin Ball who was appointed after the dismissal of former Di Canio over not meeting the expectations. However, there is no confirmation from the club end nor there is any speculation over his appointment on a permanent basis, yet he has shown his readiness to be a permanent boss for the Black Cats. It looks like a recap of what happened to Chelsea manager Rafael Benítez who was temporarily appointed on similar circumstances last year, but later, replaced by José Mourinho. Anyway, there is nothing wrong in trying and this is what 48-year-old Englishman is doing. It is also a fact that Sunderland has shown an improved displayed since he has taken the job of big boss and that is why he is taking the vibes in his favor.

Though, he also knows that anyone would like to be at Stadium of Light, yet, since he has served the club for more than seven years, he has better chances to be considered for a longer term. He said, “Anybody who is anybody would like to be considered for it. In the sense of what I have done as a coach or a player and, not only that, the qualifications I have got as a coach, I would like to be considered. But ultimately that’s the club’s decision and I would go with that. Whether it was me or someone else, they would have my full support.”

If we look at what is running in club boss Ellis Short’s mind, he has a long list of probable to be placed on the vacant post which includes Tony Pulis, Steve McClaren, and Gianfranco Zola, but there is no one who is confirmed as of yet. Ball is happy at the moment that his team has at least secured second win of the season, and possibly, it can improve a lot more in coming weeks. He added, “I just thought it was a really good performance in the sense that they worked very hard, but also played some good football and created a lot of chances. We also have to give credit to Peterborough because they came up with a decent game-plan. You can see why they are doing very well at the moment.”

Next few days will clear the cloud over who is the next mentor for Coal Cats and how he delivers what his formers failed to do.
