Sounders forward and US soccer’s national teammate Alex Morgan has been named as the U.S athlete of the year. This award is most popular in US sports fraternity, and since it is being given to a young n shining star of soccer, US national soccer team is also expected to capitalize it on field as well. The 23 year old starlet outcast other contestants in terms of voting that was segregated equally among fans via Facebook, top officials of US soccer federation, and national media. In fact, her performance this year made him win this award where she leaded from the front and scored as many as 28 goals along with assisting in 19 others. Among all the goals she fired, her most important goal came in the semifinals of London Olympics where she led US victory over Canada by 4-3.
