Aston Villa secure a last place for itself, Joleon Lescott calls it a ‘weight off the shoulders’

In every English premier league season we talk more about the toppers of the leaderboard than those who reside at the bottom, and actually, whoever ends campaign at the bottom is equally mentionable – though for its poor form. Aston Villa is one such side who has been devastating throughout the year and for its insensible display of form in the field, this Villa Park side could only secure a bottom place for itself after they lose another game to Manchester United by 1-0 last night. The game itself has nothing to talk about except Marcus Rashford’s only winner that took his side little bit closer to the top four, though Red Devils have virtually no chance to seal a Championship league qualification. Aston Villa centre-back Joleon Lescott talked about their latest blow to ManU and if they deserved a loss at Old Trafford, he said in an interview after the game, “We knew before the game what we had to do but coming to Old Trafford is never easy no matter what situation you're in. … [Read more...]

Man United hails EPL title for the 20th time

April 23, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Nothing could provide a better piece of mind than winning a major league title in front of 70000 odd fans and with a clean sweep. This is what happened with Manchester United, who has long been predicted as the winner of EPL title this season, and they did it in style; they defeated Aston Villa with a 3-0 clean sweep last night. It was Van Persie who showed a magnificent display of soccer and put on a hat trick in the first half itself which was too much for Villa to even equalize. It was actually the night of ManU where whole stadium was chanting Chamipon, Champion and No. 20. coz this was going to be the twentieth title for the Alex Ferguson team. Actually, recently, Persie was widely criticized for his persisting injuries but he put a full stop on all his critics by showing why ManU spent a hefty $36 million amount on an injury prone player last year. Even though, the winner has been decided but trophy will only be rewarded after the final match of the league against Swansea on … [Read more...]

Stiliyan Petrov feels like a survivor after being diagnosed with leukemia

EPL club Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov feels like a survivor after being diagnosed with leukemia, a rare disease that affects white blood cells which are responsible for strength in our immune system. He is not the first one in contemporary soccer to be identified with such a kind of disease; earlier Barcelona head coach has also been diagnosed with throat cancer for which he is still going treatment after two surgeries in last two years. Leukemia is also considered a kind of cancer which can be cured if treated properly, though it also depends upon the age of the person affected. The Bulgarian was associated with Celtic until 2006 and played 30 matches for them, he then joined Villa in 2006 and till date he has played almost 200 matches for them. But the good news is his leukemia is showing signs of recovery in very first treatment session hence he is most likely to get away of it sooner than expected earlier. He recalled how it started and shared it via club website; he … [Read more...]

Chelsea celebrates their big win over Villa

Chelsea celebrates their big win over Villa

8 - 0 This is something amazing happened to Chelsea after they see the worst for them in recent times. Their scoring machine leveled most of their last defeats by surging their average goal per match count to three. Moreover, their astonishing win over Villa in premium league made it sure that Rafael Benítez’s team will better be placed at the third spot in EPL. Aston Villa must have been feeling pity when they have been slapping one after another goal by Blues’ force. More interestingly, Chelsea fired 8 goals in total and none of the goals could be answered by Villa, perhaps, total count would have been much more should Villa goalkeeper have not done a splendid job by stopping many brilliant shots fired by the Blues. This is probably the first time in history when seven different players scored for Chelsea’s eight fired goals. Despite a biggest ever EPL win in recent times, Rafael Benitez still sees much room for improvement in the team. After the match, the jubilant manager told … [Read more...]
