Messi finally signs his Barca contract until 2018

Everybody knows Messi has agreed on extending his stay at Camp Nou until 2018 in December last year. Now, the paperwork of said deal has also been completed and Messi has signed it making it sure that contemporary soccer starlet never leaves Barca – at least for his professional lifetime. His two colleagues: defender Puyol and midfielder Xavi have already sealed their respective extension contracts last month; only Messi’s contract was pending. Barcelona, who is leading the leaderboard of La Liga with a comfortable margin is well-known for securing its star players for a longer period of time, if not for the lifetime; hence it do everything it can for maintaining its supremacy in the world of soccer. Real Madrid and Barcelona top the richest soccer clubs’ list

Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona continue their dominance over top richest clubs’ list for eighth consecutive year. Both these clubs are ahead by around 100m Euros to their third place holder Manchester United in the recently published Football Money League by an accountant firm Deloitte. Topping the list for eighth time brings La Liga club equal to Manchester United that headed the list for a similar term during initial first eight years of the money league, moreover it also became the only club in the world to cross half a billion mark. The list comprises top twenty clubs which have generated maximum revenues in financial year 2011-12. Interestingly, top six spots are still unchanged with their last year holders; they generated more than 23m Euro during the previous year. Barcelona lost their first match in La Liga

3-2 It could have not been a better win for Real Sociedad than defeating top contender of the trophy Barcelona; perhaps, this game became more significant for them when they crushed Tito Vilanova’s army who tasted their first setback in the series. Real Sociedad showed their power play when they came back in fashion after trailing by two goals and won one of the most interesting matches of La Liga. Barcelona not interested in vending David Villa on Loan

Messi, Xavi, and Puyol have been agreed for a new contract extension by Barcelona

Whatever happened to Messi’s life last year is remarkable; perhaps he is the only Barcelona player who is surely going to last his career at Camp Nou, while other players will keep changing from time to time. Under the current arrangements, Messi has been contracted to play for Vilanova’s team up to 2016, and as per the recent buzz, Barcelona has again agreed to extend his contract expiry for another two years. That means; Messi will be lasting his career at Barcelona only. Other players who have been offered contract extensions are Xavi, and Puyol. While Xavi contract is lined up for expiry in next summer, Puyol’s current contract is to expire after the current season itself, and both of them have now been offered another term with the club to cheer their rememberable journey with Blaugrana.
