It has always been an alluring display of soccer when two legendry soccer teams are in front of each other. The much hyped Champions League match between Manchester United and Real Madrid United was ended in a 1-1- draw, and it was completely biased towards Real’s Ronaldo who shifted to Santiago Bernabeu from United back in 2009 at a hefty price tag. Chelsea is out from Champions League
So, finally, Chelsea has to taste the bitterness of being the first title holder to be ousted in the first round of Champions League. Despite investing millions of dollars on high profile players, and even after sacking a well-known admired soccer coach, The Blues could not survive as the Champions. Just seventh month ago, this was the same team which celebrated its Champions League triumph in most astonishing way, and now the same team is being ogled by the world for their miserable preference in the league. A Bigger Champions League at Europa League’s Cost?
Europe’s supreme football governing body is considering a change in its own organized annual leagues, especially in Europa League. Accordingly, as per the latest updates, UEFA is planning to demolish Europa League altogether along with expending the number of teams participate in Champions League from 32 to 64. It is like vanishing one league at the cost of another. Actually, the format and rank of Europa League has always been criticized by football fraternity, perhaps, top soccer clubs do not even want to send their first rated teams to this league, and if such a merger takes place, there’ll be approximately 64 clubs who would participate in new Champions League’s format. Luiz Adriano banned for an unfair goal
Ukrainian forward and Brazilian native Luiz Adriano has been banned for one match after he found guilty of using unethical ways to score a goal against Nordsjaelland in Champions League on Tuesday in Denmark. UEFA classified this goal as in violation of ‘principals of the conducts’ and barred him from the field. Moreover, a disciplinary case is also opened against him that is expected to be decided by next Tuesday. The controversy started when play was halted coz of an injury caused to a Nordsjaelland player, and in between, Adriano made everyone surprised when he collected Willian's kick intended to home goalkeeper, and shot into the empty net. Referee did not find any violation to the rules with that goal hence allowed it as a legal one, but it made Nordsjaelland’s fans furious, and they started hooting Adriano. Dinamo Zagreb’s fans are banned to cheer their club in Paris
Dinamo Zagreb’s fans are banned by French Government from attending a Champions League match between Dinamo Zagreb and Paris St Germain scheduled to play on coming Wednesday. This decision is taken by French Interior Minister Manuel Valls who has a reason to believe that if these fans are allowed; they can make a disturbance in one way or other. Perhaps, Croatian authorities themselves have provided them an information about a gang named ‘Blue Bad Boys’ whose members have planned to travel and attend the match without tickets and with unfold intensions. Valls also explained the ban period which is from November 6 at midnight to November 7 at noon. Since, the so called gang has the history of violence in many previous matches; French government doesn’t want to take any risk that could cause a danger on its civilians or property.
