It was a nail biting match which changed its path when Paolo Guerrero’s header in 69th-minute led South American champions Corinthians by 1-0 over Chelsea. This is their second international title; their first one was FIFA Club World Championship back in 2000. Rafael Benitez, the interim manager of Chelsea could not win his first trophy for the Blue Lions despite making three changes to the semifinal team which crushed Mexican side Monterrey by 3-1 in the semis, while Corinthians made only one change to their semifinal team by bringing Jorge Henrique in for Douglas.
