England’s under-20 team again lost an important international event when they were thrown out of U20 world cup by Egypt. They lost by 2-0 and finished on the last place in their group; their defeat gave an indirect advantage to other two teams Iraq and Chile. Actually, England required at least a draw to keep its hopes alive but two late goals from Trezeguet and Hassan Ahmed ruined their odds to go to the knockout stage. It was their third match in the tournament after they drew their first two games. This is, in fact, the worst period going on for young English team coz they have played as many as 16 matches in world cup without even a single win which is a shocking for a team of this caliber. As far U20 world cup journey is concerned, it is full of miserable performances; coz they have not overcome in any WC match since 1997. While the hangover of 2012-13 EPL season would still be on your head, next season’s schedule is being made public by the league officials. It is like having a sleeping pill after taking wine; still, it is fair if you are a diehard fan of soccer especially of English Premier League. Actually, there have been many significant changes with most of the top EPL clubs as far their manager and head coach positions are concerned; hence new appointees’ first games are eagerly being waited by their fans. It would be interesting to see how David Moyes, who has been appointed as Manchester United manager after Sir Alex Ferguson retirement, starts his first campaign for defending champions along with Jose Mourinho who’s second spell at Chelsea will be tested against new side Hull City on 17 August. Former England captain David Beckham was off the pitch officially when PSG did not include him in the final squad for Sunday’s match with Lorient, which means, the player has now said goodbye to his most loving thing in the world: a soccer pitch. The star Englishman, who has ever been more popular than he deserves for his performances, has played 115 matches for England along with more than 600 club appearances for four different clubs in four different countries. No rushed comeback for Wilshere: Wenger
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger looks in no hurry to bring it ace midfielder Jack Wilshere back who has been sidelined since March 3 after reporting his ankle problem. His injury took more than expected time in healing which also includes a rehabilitation session back in Dubai, but despite all this, he is not available to play for Arsenal citing more time required to fully recover from his ankle bone injury. Manager confirmed that Wilshere still stands where he was three weeks ago hence he needs some more time in getting back into his shoes. He also reminded midfielder’s history with his ankles and his medical team’s advice not to call him in a hurry.
