Under-20 World Cup will go ahead despite violence in Turkey: FIFA
FIFA again shows its commitment about an international event despite ground level disturbances. This time, it shows its assurance to complete the Under-20 World Cup which is scheduled to be started from June 21. Turkey, the co-host of the event, is going through antigovernment riots; perhaps the situation is much tensed there as police is daily using tear gas and water cannons to spread the public. It is not a far behind incident when FIFA executive member, a high net worth American: Chuck Blazer, raised the eyebrow of everyone by blowing a cash for vote scandal being happened among some of the CONCACAF members at that point of point, perhaps he was actually the convener of a major anti-corruption reform at FIFA. Women Soccer: FIFA seek clarification over Nigerian ban on lesbian players
There have been several occasions in the past when FIFA has been listened saying that whatever a player does in a private room, is his personal matter. It includes player’s sexual preferential as well. Recently, Nigeria Women's Professional League chairperson Dilichukwu Onyedinma said through a newspaper that any player who is found indulged in lesbianism will be disqualified. Such a personal attack is taken seriously around the world; hence many reputed organizations wrote a joint letter to FIFA general secretary Jérôme Valcke asking its intervention on the matter. The organizations which signed the letter include presidents of the Federation of Gay Games, European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation, Football v Homophobia, and AllOut.org.
