Soccer is unarguably the world’s most profitable game not only for players but for all participants: may it be a club, or even those third parties who are not directly involved in any player’s rights but are entitled for a share in player’s profit. FIFA, being a global governing body of the game, now thinks this is a bad practice which should be restricted, so it now urges that any agent or third party’s interest in any player’s economic rights should be banned. Moreover, it also feels a need of “international standards with precise rules and regulations” to control agent’s behavior in the game. If everything continues as planned, FIFA will table down its proposal to panel’s next year meeting. Until now, there is a global practice where clubs throw away big bounties to buy players in association with a third party which is known or unknown sometimes. This third party may or may not have any interest in the game, it is only concerned with profit figures these clubs make by reselling … [Read more...]
Latest FIFA Rankings; Spain tops
FIFA announces its ranking status of top 200 soccer teams on Wednesday, and it includes some of the interesting ups and downs. Spain and German share first and second spots respectively; while Spain’s first place remained intact for it despite its 1-1 draw with France, German’s second spot is a bit of surprise for everyone coz of its disappointed results of the late. Argentina, this time, makes it to the third place leaving behind Portugal after its exciting wins over Uruguay and Chile. One of the interesting changes is in England’s position, which has deteriorated from fifth to sixth place; its ex position is taken over by Italy thanks to its wonderful performance in Euro 2012 final qualifiers. Moreover, Italy gained around ten points out of its brilliant display of soccer in world cup qualifiers too. Another highlight of top ten teams is Russia that improved its position from 12th to 9th position thanks to its remarkable wins over Portugal and Azerbaijan in world cup qualifiers. … [Read more...]
English Football Runs by idiots?
In a strange quote referring FIFA President Sepp Blatter has said England football is being run by idiots has spread havoc in soccer community. The quote is written in an autobiography by Sebastian Coe who is a well-known personality in soccer, perhaps he is one who ran London Olympics and was the chairman of FIFA’s ethics committee. His latest job was a part of English think tank for its failed bid to host 2018 FIFA world cup. According to him, Blatter has always been a problem in dealing with English officials, perhaps, he once said that English soccer is not being run by bright peoples; peoples who run it are idiots. Notably, Russia won the hosting rights for 2018 world cup, and during voting, England got only two votes. Even Coe feels that Blatter too was in favor of Russia for 2018 world cup. His favor to Russia seems very much unbelievable, but it is true, coz he doesn’t like the way English football functions especially at the top level. Coe describes Blatter’s biased … [Read more...]
Goal-line Technology Gets FIFA Approval
Technology comes closer to soccer with FIFA’s approval to use goal line technology in soccer games. Goal line technology enables technological assistance in finding if a doubtful goal is actually a legal goal or not. At the moment, there are two solution providers of this goal line technology: one is Hawkeye and other is GoalRef, and both of them have got FIFA’s approval at the moment. FIFA’s approval means these two systems can now be implanted in any league or competition provided both these systems do pass a final inspection test before their use. Predictably, FIFA club world cup, to be held in December, will be the first event to have this technology usage. A FIFA spokesman said on the occasion, “This milestone means that the companies now have authorisation to install their technology systems worldwide" said a Fifa spokesman.” Notably, international football association board (IFAB) has already added this technology into soccer’s rule book in July this year. How these … [Read more...]

This mammoth investment will be born in 50:50 ratios by both public and private sectors in the country.
