Casillas axed for up to 12 weeks for his hand fracture

La Liga club Real Madrid would surely be dreaming to defeat its arch rival Barcelona in coming weeks, but it would have never imagined that it would have to do the task without its ace goalie. Madrid first goalkeeper and captain Casillas got his left hand fractured when he collided with teammate Alvaro Arbeloa accidentally in his attempt to recuse the ball during Wednesday’s 1-1 tie with Valencia in the Spanish Cup. Later, his injury found to be serious one and he had to undergo a surgery immediately. Having a bone surgery means laid off for at least 12 weeks; hence he will also miss the field for a similar term. His club issued a statement containing doctor’s brief about the injury; statement scripted by chief medical officer Carlos Diez reads as, “The period of unavailability is between eight and 12 weeks. January 21, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

3-2 It could have not been a better win for Real Sociedad than defeating top contender of the trophy Barcelona; perhaps, this game became more significant for them when they crushed Tito Vilanova’s army who tasted their first setback in the series. Real Sociedad showed their power play when they came back in fashion after trailing by two goals and won one of the most interesting matches of La Liga. Ronaldo gives a tribute to himself

Cristiano Ronaldo is back, perhaps back with a bang! Real Madrid lost two matches in a row, and finally saw the magic of its star striker Ronaldo who scored two fantastic goals in quick succession to crown a much needed win to his club. With this win, Madrid has improved its position in the leaderboard, yet well behind top positioned Barcelona. Both of his goals came in 68th and 70th minute of the game. Despite a powerful performance in the match, Ronaldo faced many criticisms coz of his inconsistence performances which is a little heart breaker for the striker. Expressing his woe on the mixed feedbacks, he said, “Not even God can please everyone. I always try to be a good person who the majority of people like. But showing too much humility is a flaw. People either hate me or love me. I always try and work hard in order to be the best at what I do. In my opinion, everybody should have the objective to be the best at what they do, regardless of his or her profession.” Anyways, life … [Read more...]

Real Sociedad acknowledges fans by screening their names on T-shirts

Real Sociedad is having a dream run in La Liga series this season where it is still unbeaten even after playing seven games. This is one of their best performances in Spanish football league in many years. Leave apart what they are doing on the field; let’s talk about one of their elite initiatives where Donostia based club is acknowledging its fans by wearing t-shirts appearing names of its members. This is one of the most innovative ideas to say ‘thank you’ to fans across the globe. Clubs around the world prefer to design their t-shirts with sponsors’ logo and tags, but Sociedad has probably become the first club who has taken a step to recognize its fans in a unique way. Since, the club has more than 25000 members, final names to be printed on t-shirts will be chosen at random. Moreover, another batch of members’ names has also been finalized to be shown by the players in a TV commercial. Hence, there would be 44 lucky members of the club, 22 names of them would be featured in a TV … [Read more...]
