Lionel Messi turns down a mega rich transfer deal

Surely, nobody will believe this if anyone says that Messi can ever think of leaving Camp Nou, and rightly so, as per the recent developments in soccer fraternity, he has turned down the mega rich transfer deal from a Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala. Reportedly, Russian giant has offered an unprecedented figure of €250 million for the star Argentinian player. The bid is said to be for a five year contract that means Messi would have taken home a weekly salary of more than 560000 euros, which would have made him world’s highest paid player of all time. But, he did not think twice to say no to Russian aspirant who has already stolen many star players from many big clubs in the past. Like, Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o, who used to play with Messi for Barcelona FC, has been acquired by the same club in 2011 at €20 million per year prize tag, which is a highest paid amount till date. As expected, Anzhi’s officials have completely denied offering such a mega million deal offer to Barca. … [Read more...]

Zambia FA says it has sufficient evidence that shows that their club Kabwe Warriors’ striker Godfrey Chitalu has already scored 107 goals back in 1972, which is much more than the number set by Barca player. On the other hand, Brazilian club Flamengo has its own claim that says former Brazil captain Zico has also scored 89 goals back in 1979. In an interview given to a Brazilian sports daily, Bruno Lucena, head of Flamengo's research and statistics department, said, “We are upset. Messi still hasn't passed the milestone.” He also presented a whole list with all the goals fired by former Brazilian that include 81 goals for Flamengo in 1979, seven for Brazil, … [Read more...]
