Luis Suarez now wants to stay with Liverpool

How things can change in football world is known to everyone and a perfect example of how players change their comments to suit the atmosphere they are living in is right here. Liverpool high profile striker Luis Suarez has until been saying that he wants to make a shift to play in the Champions league, and now he is saying a completely different thing, perhaps he now looks like to be more loyal to Liverpool than he was one month back. Last month, he gave an interview and openly said that he would like to move to another club if it means he can play in the Champions league next season. Notably, he has a contract with Liverpool to play with them until 2017, so he is nowhere near to that expiry then how he suddenly wants to play for another club would surely have a reasonable backdrop. Moreover, media recently reported his links up with many clubs including Juventus, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich, but looks like he could not have a comfortable deal with any of them hence he has … [Read more...]

Rodgers wants an extension for Steven Gerrard

Thirty-two year old Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard again proved his worth for his club when manager hints about offering him a new contract extension. Brendan Rodgers confirmed his desire about a new contract extension that would probably tie his captain for the rest of his career at Anfield. Though, he only scored four goals in his forty played matches, but his steady availability is more important than his score tally. He made his debut for Liverpool back in 1998, and during his long playing career, he never led his managers down at least for his injuries, though he has always been a victim of injuries. However, at the moment, there is no formal deal talk in progress, yet Rodgers confirmed that he has discussed about the new contract with midfielder informally, and in coming weeks probably a formal contract will be tabled. His persistent form stands him parallel with Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs who is going to celebrate his fortieth birthday next season. Comparing Gerrard … [Read more...]

Liverpool 3-2 victory over Tottenham halts its unbeaten run

3 - 2 The EPL leaderboard is getting more and more interesting as the days are progressing. Just few weeks ago, it was unthinkable that Tottenham can be on the third place while Chelsea closely following it. Tottenham showed a magnificent gameplay in its last twelve matches and remained unbeaten for a dozen of EPL games, but ultimately, its unbeaten run is halted by Liverpool who is also surging its position in the leaderboard. Liverpool defeated Tottenham by 3-2 on Sunday making it to sit at the sixth place in the tally. Likewise, Tottenham has loosened its grip over third place which now became more vulnerable looking at its narrow lead from Chelsea who is also in good form after a FA’s quarterfinal draw against United. Captain Steven Gerrard scored the winner in the 82nd minute of the game and made its sure that Tottenham will not be unbeaten anymore. It is Liverpool’s third consecutive win under Rodgers mentorship which looks a result of comprehensive moral boost rather just a … [Read more...]

Liverpool crushed Swansea by 5-0 in the Premier League

5 - 0 It was like a horror show for Swansea City when they were almost crushed by the Liverpool like never before. It was a surprising comeback by Brendan Rodgers team coz they were missing a win from last five matches in the league. More importantly, it was big relief for Rodgers by defeating none other than his former club. Factually, it was first Liverpool win against a top 10 team of the league, hence this win is being taken as their comeback win in the league and they can again do the same when they meet Swansea again a week later. The victory improves Liverpool’s position in the leaderboard just above of Swansea and if it could win next few matches as well, it will surely put a challenge for Arsenal or even Chelsea. Actually, Liverpool had a complete control over the game right from the start, but it was almost half time when they could finally score their first goal when Steven Gerrard capitalized a penalty stroke. With a comprehensive victory, The Reds are now confident to … [Read more...]

In another terrifying incident in an Europa League match between Liverpool and Zenit, here in Zenit St Petersburg stadium on Thursday, Liverpool’s fans were reportedly beaten up before and during the match by a bunch of hooligan said to be the host fans. A local news channel flashed the news about 40 peoples’ strong group who attacked the traveling fans when they landed on the metro stations to attain the match. The attack was so severe that supporters had to take the shelter inside stadium itself until security forces used bats to scatter the hooligans.
