He is not only leaving Liverpool club but also Liverpool by making a shift to somewhere else. Liverpool’s CL match against Debrecen in 2009 was fixed?
Just few days ago, UEFA’s investigators hinted about more than 500 matches which were assumingly fixed, but they did not name any of the players or matches that time. Now, a match is being specified by Europol as suspected to be fixed, and that was Liverpool’s Champions Leagues clash with Hungarian club Debrecen back in 2009. Reportedly, Debrecen goalie Vukasin Poleksic had been approached by bookmakers before two of their matches, but he did not inform UEFA about those offers. Later, he also faced the disciplinary actions by European governing body for not reporting an important incident to them, and consequently, he was banned for two years in 2010, but at that time, UEFA did not reveal the exact reasons for his ban. Liverpool Winger Sterling booked for assault
Young and promising Liverpool and England winger Raheem Sterling has been charged for assaulting a twenty seven year old woman last November when the player was just seventeen. His age made him named as a juvenile; hence his case was heard by a juvenile court here in Liverpool. The incident took place few months back when a mid-aged woman filed a complaint against the footballer; she also had some injuries on her face that time which later proved to be gained out of a physical violence. Though, the hearing was not attended by Sterling; his lawyer Mick Hogan presented his side in the court. Mr Hogan also told the court about his denial of doing any such violent act; perhaps he also pointed out his eighteen years of age which he attained last December; he asked the court to shift his case to an adult court. Football officials enjoy high status in the society whereby even a tiny change in their routine lifestyle becomes news in the media. Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool’s manager, is one such soccer personality who needs no introduction and when he was seen in the court during the proceedings of a case where his son was an accused, it became viral news in the whole world. Meireles ban reduces to four matches
Former Chelsea and Liverpool star and current Fenerbahce midfielder has finally got his eleven matches’ suspension reduced to just four matches. The relaxation he got is warranted by his club Fenerbahce who appealed against his prolonged ban judgment by Turkey football association. He got an extended ban after he was alleged spitting on match referee in a clash against archrival Galatasaray last week. However, he and his club both refused to accept spitting allegations as leveled against the midfielder. Turkey's football arbitration board, after hearing player’s defense, sustains his initial three matches ban along with one match extra ban for showing unethical conduct on the pitch. The said relaxation came after he successfully convinced the disciplinary board that he can never deliberately spit on referee, perhaps whatever happened was just a matter of confusion.
