Mancini laughs at his City leaving reports

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has clearly denied reports that say he could join Russian club Zenit St Petersburg if his contract at Etihad Stadium expires prematurely. He signed a five-year contract with EPL club last summer so chances of him leaving the club are very low looking at the recent developments. He jokingly said at a press conference recently that he can’t bear the cold at Russia hence he is not leaving to anywhere! Actually, big spending Russian club has not seen so much improvement in its position either in Russian league, where it lasted on the third spot, or in European League, where it has been knocked out by Basel on Thursday despite spending multi millions on Hulk and Axel Witsel last summer; hence they have approached Mancini to replace its current coach and Mancini fellow Italian Luciano Spalletti. Likewise, City’s performance in EPL this season was also not memorable; they knocked out of the league in group stage along with defending champion Chelsea, and … [Read more...]

Mancini assures a title win in next three or four years

Soccer world is badly known as the worst place to survive in if you are not performing well. There have been many cases in the past where many clubs sacked their managers overnight after they did not perform as expected. Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini could be one such manager who is facing the heat of being the next on firing line coz of City’s humiliating exist from Champions League. Now, Mancini is advocating the stability within a team and saying City bosses should give him more time to become stable rather sacking, which would a big mistake considering current City lineup. However, he is also assuring for a title win in next couple of years; perhaps he is challenging himself for wining at least one more trophy for his club, and if he could not do so, he is willing to be resigned rather continuing as a non-proving manager. According to Mancini, he is still the best person to lead City, and if he is allowed to, he can ensure winning another Premier League or the Champions … [Read more...]

Manchester City and PSG are under scanner for financial fair play violations

February 6, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Two money rolling clubs Manchester City and Paris St Germain are under scanner of UEFA for their misconducts over financial fair play policy compliances. UEFA, reportedly, has warned these clubs to prove they are not cheating via inflating their income by signing sponsorship deals with owners’ associates companies. Notably, both clubs have signed some big sponsorship deals last year, and most of these deals were belonged to their owners’ sister concerns, which means, according to UEFA, these clubs are fictitiously inflating their income to gain more buying power in transfer windows, which further lays unfair playing field for others. UEFA reports these presumed violations in its annual report published recently where it suspected there are around 46 clubs covering 22 European countries who would need to prove their money flow in the past year. City’s recent deal worth £400million with Etihad airline is under scanner coz its Abu Dhabi-based owners have a controlling stake in the … [Read more...]

Balotelli slams English soccer culture

February 3, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Mario Balotelli is the only player who needs no PR agency to remain in the news. He is always found on the front page of any sport’s new magazine naturally. This time, he is in the news for his loud words about English playing culture after leaving English soil last week. Mario Balotelli left Manchester City last week to his native AC Milan, and as soon he joins Milan he starts cursing everything about English soccer; its whether, press, food - actually everything. However, he did not say even a single word about his EPL club Manchester City; perhaps he praised his ex-manager Roberto Mancini along with former teammates. He quoted about his ex-club as, “Good things - only when I get to Carrington to train. So my team-mates and manager and the bad things? Everything else. I have to say thanks to all the City fans because they’ve been very nice to me and they always supported me in the good and in the bad moments. And I have to thank my team-mates, and the manager. Everything else, I'm … [Read more...]

Manchester City lose its captain Kompany for three weeks

Belgian center back and Manchester City’s captain Vincent Kompany is reportedly ruled out of the team for three weeks coz of his calf injury he sustained during fourth round of FA cup at the Stoke City. Looking at the EPL leaderboard tally, next few weeks could be crucial for City looking at its coming Liverpool’s clash on Sunday, especially considering Manchester United’s possible win on Saturday which could further enhance City’s distance from top positioned ManU. City manager Roberto Mancini informed about captain’s unavailability on Friday in a news conference, he said, “I hope that he can recover after the FA Cup,” he was referring the FA cup’s fourth round which is scheduled to begin on Feb 17 against Leeds United.
