City’s Gareth Barry is banned for one match after abusing match official
Sunday’s English Premier League clash was a nail biting affair which was won by United by 3-2. But, the match is now remembered for wrong reasons, i.e., for City’s Gareth Barry, who used abusive language to match official. English FA took the instance immediately and acted upon it. FA found the abuses were in contrary to its Rule E3, hence banned the footballer for one match. FA issued a statement and said, “Manchester City's Gareth Barry will serve a one-match suspension with immediate effect after admitting a breach of FA Rule E3 in that he used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official following his side's match against Manchester United on Sunday 9 December 2012. Also as part of the standard penalty for this offence, Barry has been fined £8,000.” Consequently, Berry will not be a part of City’s squad against Newcastle United on Saturday. Txiki Begiristain is the New Sporting Director for Man City
Former Spanish footballer Txiki Begiristain is all set to replace Manchester City’s sporting director Brian Marwood. The high profile appointment was long in waiting, and now it’s clear in public domain that Begiristain will begin his new job at Man City. Brian Marwood will now take over soccer academic and serve his service to train new soccer talent for Man City. Begiristain has played for many clubs in his career including Spain; perhaps he holds as many as 22 caps for Spain along with Deportivo, Barcelona, and Real Sociedad.
