Ryan Giggs plays 1000th league appearance

Thirty nine year old United’s midfielder Ryan Giggs finally became probably the only player in recent times to play 1000 competitive matches. Untied last played match against Real Madrid was the benchmark for him where he actively participated and achieved this magic figure. Actually, the game of soccer has become harder to survive in, especially for mature players, perhaps a player with a thirty plus age is often considered as a retired one, but Giggs changed this old belief and managed to remain fit to play up to this milestone. Out of his 1000 played matches, 932 were for his club United and 64 were for Wales, and remaining four for England’s Olympic team. He enjoyed every bit of his 22 years old breathing career where he won many titles for his team besides earning lots of respect in the soccer fraternity. Actually, he was not playing just to complete his tally; perhaps he has been an integral part of United’s A-team; his last goal came in the last month where he scored in the 2-0 … [Read more...]

39-year old Ryan Giggs extends his Old Trafford stay until June 2014

Manchester United beat Reading to reach into FA Cup quarterfinal

2 - 1 Manchester United secured its place in the FA cup’s quarterfinal by beating Reading in the pre-quarterfinal with a comprehensive margin. They beat Reading easily by 2-1 at Old Trafford on Monday. United, indeed, remained on the driver seat throughout the game, but it was Nani and Javier Hernandez who changed the result in its favor by scoring two quick goals. Reading is among the few clubs who are known for their rock solid defense and that is why Alex Ferguson men had to struggle to cross their net despite having in control throughout the match. There 2-1 victory over Reading took them to the quarterfinal where they will clash with the winner of Chelsea and Middlesbroug. The game was leveled until 69th minute when two prompt goals fired by Nani and Javier Hernandez within three minutes ensured their victory, though, Jobi McAnuff put some resistance and scored a goal in the 82nd minute but it was too late by then. It’s a tie for mega showdown between Manchester United and Real Madrid

February 15, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

It has always been an alluring display of soccer when two legendry soccer teams are in front of each other. The much hyped Champions League match between Manchester United and Real Madrid United was ended in a 1-1- draw, and it was completely biased towards Real’s Ronaldo who shifted to Santiago Bernabeu from United back in 2009 at a hefty price tag. It was the first time he was facing his old teammates in a match, and he perfectly made them feel sorry to leave such a power player. Though, the match was ended in a draw, there was something more than just one goal from each side. The clash between two legendry clubs has long been awaiting, and finally, Dday came, and it showed why the world was waiting to see two of the finest soccer clubs facing each other. Maybe EPL is the best and reputed soccer league in the world, but there are many other leagues where these English clubs are long trying to make an impact. European Champion league is one such league which has ever been on the target of top EPL clubs.
