Madrid lost Copa del Rey final to Atletico Madrid

1 - 2 In an action pack Copa del Rey final Real Madrid lost by 2-1 to Atletico Madrid despite taking the lead at one stage. Starlet Ronaldo put Real on top when he capitalized Mesut Ozil's corner through his header, but Diego Costa did not waste any time in leveling this initial lead. It was rather a bad defense to allow them to equalize so early otherwise Real’s lead could have been there for a longer time. The match was so tight till the end that no team could score another goal in the first ninety minutes thereafter hence match has to be extended to extra time where, in 98th minute, Joao Miranda’s header on Koke’s cross secured a legendary victory for Atletico. It was more a worst news for Real manager Mourinho which has already hinted to leave the club after this season. In fact, this is the first season in his stay at Madrid that he ended without having any silverware. During his stay, he won three titles: a La Liga title in 2011-12, a Copa del Rey in 2010-11, and one Spanish … [Read more...]

Jose Mourinho to part his ways from Real Madrid

Nothing could be worst for a coach than leaving his club with bitter memories. European cup is almost reached to its final stoppage and Real Madrid journey has been halted at the semifinal stage – early than expected. This is the point where both Madrid and Mourinho seem to be parting their ways despite the fact that Mourinho did take them to the third successive semifinal of the European league. Now, when Madrid is out of the league, speculations have started that he will be axed after this season or probably he would return to England after facing some humiliating comments over their performance in the league. The 50 year old ‘The Special One’ would love to join a club ‘where people love me to be’. Ex Chelsea manager has not hinted any particular team he would love to join, but indications are that he would be back to his old club Chelsea after Madrid ended their Champion League campaign when lost to Borussia Dortmund with 4-3 margin in aggregate. Probably, he would remain at his … [Read more...]

Champions League Semi Final Line Up: Barcelona could play Real in the Finals

April 12, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

What could be the dream end to Champions league this season? It would be if Messi and Rolando play against each other in the finals. Even destiny is in its favor that is why both these teams are kept apart from facing each other in the semis itself. Bayern will play with Barcelona in the first semi while Dortmund will clash with Ronaldo’s men in the second semifinal of the series. In fact, this would not be the first time when Ronaldo and Messi will be in front of each other in the Champions league’s final, coz Ronaldo was in the United’s team when they met with Barcelona and Messi back in 2009 Champions league final, but he was rather unknown that time. Now, things have changed completely, Ronaldo has transformed into what he is today and so is the Messi, so it is perhaps the greatest entertainment package for fans across the world if these two contemporary starlets face each other in the mega finals at Wembley. Out of the four semifinalists, both Real and Barca are attacking … [Read more...]

April 4, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

3 - 0 It can never be better than winning a quarterfinal match with as good as 3-0 margin for any team. Real Madrid revealed its strength in the Champions League where it comprehensively defeated their rival Galatasaray in the first leg of the quarterfinals. Moreover, their three goals margin virtually made Fatih Terim club out of the tournament, coz if they want to reach into the semis, they would have to defeat Madrid by more than three goals in aggregate in the second leg match at Istanbul next Tuesday. Actually, Madrid took control of the game right in the beginning when their ace striker Ronaldo scored first goal of the game in the ninth minute, he was then followed by fellow Karim Benzema twenty minutes later and surged their lead to 2-0. Second half brought another goal for La Liga club when Gonzalo Higuain came on for Benzema in the 65th minute and scored another goal via header.
