Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona continue their dominance over top richest clubs’ list for eighth consecutive year. Both these clubs are ahead by around 100m Euros to their third place holder Manchester United in the recently published Football Money League by an accountant firm Deloitte. Topping the list for eighth time brings La Liga club equal to Manchester United that headed the list for a similar term during initial first eight years of the money league, moreover it also became the only club in the world to cross half a billion mark. The list comprises top twenty clubs which have generated maximum revenues in financial year 2011-12. Interestingly, top six spots are still unchanged with their last year holders; they generated more than 23m Euro during the previous year. Both top position holders are always considered as arch rivals of each other on the field and on financial point of view also they are competing with each other. Now racial abandonments to be decided by ground security in Italy
Last week, everyone saw how Real Madrid walked out of the game citing continuous racial chanting coming from the ground. This incident was an eye opener for soccer think tanks, especially for government who took this incident more seriously than English FA. Racism has always been a part of soccer games but on English soil, it was probably the first incident where something like this happened in a European country. There were many different reactions from soccer fraternity after the incident, and prominently, a war of words has been started between Madrid owner and FIFA president coz both of them seemed to have a different opinion about Madrid’s walkout. Whereas Madrid boss has had a view that his team was right to walk off, FIFA president seemed to be in favor of finding more concrete solutions rather just leaving the ground. Now, Italian lawmakers have enacted a new rule whereby no team or player can decide to leave the ground on their own if there is a racial abusing on the … [Read more...]
Madrid enter into Spanish cup Copa de Rey’s quarterfinal
4 - 0 Yesterday was the day that belonged completely to Ronaldo and his hat trick for Madrid; perhaps it was his eighteen playing for The Whites. It was the pre quarterfinal of Spanish cup Copa de Rey where Real Madrid defeated Celta Vigo by 4-0 including a hat-trick on Wednesday. All these goals were outstanding, but first one scored in the third minute was best among all where his powerful swerving shot from a long distance defeated goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez and rested inside the far side-netting. His performance led Madrid to a win twice in the last four days and this shows how brilliant form he is in. Rolando lost the prestigious Ballon d'Or award to Messi few days back, and it looks he took it too seriously and trying to prove selectors’ decision wrong. Moreover, his contract dispute with Real also deserves a second look after magnificent display of his current form. If he continues this form in next couples of matches it would be a huge plus for Real Madrid, coz there are few … [Read more...]

Tottenham Hotspur and Welsh national team footballer Gareth Bale said to be the prime target of Real Madrid, but according to his current club, they will only sell their player if Madrid is willing to pay £60million price tag. This amount is much more than their earlier asking price or they are trying to encash the opportunity, coz Rolando contract dispute is known to everyone now. On the other side, Ronaldo himself can now push Madrid to either pay him what he wants or let him go to his favorite club at a hefty replacement cost.
