Rio Ferdinand extends his stay at Old Trafford
The 34-year-old legendry midfielder has been given another one-year term to his glorified career with Manchester United. He has ever been a respectable in United camp and after he retired from international soccer last week, everyone was expecting his retirement from club soccer as well, but on the contrary, new United manager David Moyes, who promised earlier to offer him an extension, finally sanctioned his new contract that will allow him to play for United until summer 2014. Just two days before when England has to select its final eleven for coming world cup qualifiers, its legendary defender Rio Ferdinand announces his retirement from international soccer. It means he will only play for Manchester United not for England. Rio Ferdinand axes from England’s squad for WC qualifiers
In an important makeshift in England’s national soccer team, Steven Caulker is set to replace Rio Ferdinand for the next two world cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro.
