League club Sunderland, who could not start a dream run this season and residing on the bottom, could be the next Chelsea for its temporary boss Kevin Ball who was appointed after the dismissal of former Di Canio over not meeting the expectations. However, there is no confirmation from the club end nor there is any speculation over his appointment on a permanent basis, yet he has shown his readiness to be a permanent boss for the Black Cats. It looks like a recap of what happened to Chelsea manager Rafael Benítez who was temporarily appointed on similar circumstances last year, but later, replaced by José Mourinho. Anyway, there is nothing wrong in trying and this is what 48-year-old Englishman is doing. It is also a fact that Sunderland has shown an improved displayed since he has taken the job of big boss and that is why he is taking the vibes in his favor. Though, he also knows that anyone would like to be at Stadium of Light, yet, since he has served the club for more than … [Read more...]
Sunderland sacks head coach for poor start in Premier League
Current EPL season is running into its full flow, yet it is still a beginning for many clubs who are already residing on the bottom. One of these clubs Sunderland doesn’t want to finish in there; hence it has started taking corrective action right now and fired its non performing head coach. Paolo Di Canio, who was appointed to lead The Lads in March, is now a history. The 45-year-old Italian could only gain his team one point out of five initial games, however, he won three games out of thirteen played since joining Margaret Byrne club. Since, no replacement is appointed by the club, his assistant Kevin Ball will be the serving coach for next few matches. Next few days are very crucial for Sunderland where they have to meet two powerhouses: Liverpool and Manchester United, so it would be a great challenge for Ball to renovate and rejuvenate his A-Team for upcoming showdowns. Paolo Di Canio could be axed from Sunderland
It has become a normal exercise to penalize players and officials once a club could not achieve a preferred leaderboard ranking in the EPL. It becomes more viable if you at the brink of relegation which is exactly what is happening with Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio who is now facing the heat for non-performing as expected in the league. For him, it is more than a meager performance of his team and relates it with his comments about the autocracy at various clubs. Notably, he has criticized on several occasions about the fascism existed at many clubs, perhaps he was forced to release a statement contradicting his earlier statements about fascism last month. Italian manager is also very surprised to see frequent changes in the key positions of a club in England, perhaps he is more amazed to see how managers and coaches are being changed every now then which is nowhere helping clubs expecting a better performance on the field. Canio joined the club in March after owner Ellis Short fired … [Read more...]
Now Newcastle Fans retaliated with violence after defeat

The defeat brought Newcastle into the relegation cap at EPL while Sunderland’s first triumph in thirteen years at St James' Park gave them a chance to survive at the league. The victory is more a result of hard work done by manager Paolo Di Canio who revived the team to show what they can actually achieve. O’Neill sacked after Sunderland’s defeat to ManU
Until few hours back, Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill was nowhere accepting that he is on the firing line coz of their recent defeat from ManU, even though this loss has pushed them just above of bottom three in the EPL. The 61-year-old Northern Irishman, who joined the club around one year ago in December 2011, did compare his current stand with that of a glass of water which is three-quarter full, and in just few hours, big news came from Sunderland mentioning his dismissal. The position of Sunderland is just above of relegation mark with as many as seven matches are in hand. Actually, his sacking was confirmed within minutes of their defeat, but he was not informed until a sanction came in from the club bosses. Even performance wise, Sunderland was lacking a win since last eight league matches and this drought of wins led O'Neill’s sacking within 15 months of his job at the helm.
