Barcelona head coach Tito Vilanova has been subjected to countless speculations about whether he would be returned healthy or whether he will continue with the club coz his injury was showing no sign of improvement in the last one year. He went through a surgery for his throat cancer and then an extensive chemotherapy session back in the New York, he returned back staying 10 weeks there and joined the club just recently. Barcelona playing experience has been with little ups and downs during his absenteeism when his assistants Jordi Roura and Aureli Altimira took the charge as first Barca coaches. Tito Vilanova will remain head coach next season
There have been rumors all around in the last few months that Tito Vilanova could be axed citing his health problems. He has recently gone through his throat cancer surgery and now he is in US for post-surgery chemotherapy. This season; he was mostly seen outside of the ground for obvious reasons; hence his assistant coach Jordi Roura took his responsibilities in most of the matches. Now, sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has a put a dot on all rumors saying Tito will remain their head coach for at least next season or even for an extended period of time. Actually, Tito has been a source of inspiration for Barca teammates and that is why they could be able to redefine the history yesterday where they defeated Milan despite trailing by two goals on aggregate in the last 16. Vilanova to Undergo Cancer Surgery
Barcelona FC could be a ruling champion of contemporary soccer world, but there is always another side of shining stars which is quite personal and isolated. Barca’s head coach Tito Vilanova, who has been surfing from parotid gland cancer, is yet again to undergo a surgery on his parotid gland to treat his throat cancer via chemotherapy for a period of six weeks approx. Last year too; 44 year old has had the same surgery on his parotid gland, but his illness relapsed later and he required undergoing the same treatment again. Since, his treatment may go over few weeks; everyone was expecting his temporary replacement which is refused by Barca’s president.
