The 46-year-old former professional footballer and ex-Bolton Wanderers Manager Owen Coyle has now joined the EPL club Wigan on a twelve months rolling contract. The news is confirmed by none other than Wigan chairman Dave Whelan who told this to BBC sport that such a deal has taken place. Coyle has been a known figure in soccer fraternity with many ups and downs in his career. Earlier, he has been Bolton manager from 2010 to 2012 but sacked from there after The Wanderers failed to save the relegation. Wigan’s former manager Roberto Martinez was also forced to leave the club after he could not deliver in the Premier League; hence it would be the same world again for the new manager coz here too he would be facing a firing weapon if he ever makes a mistake. When Wigan chairman Dave Whelan told to BBC sports that “Bill Kenwright and myself have agreed a deal,” it became vibrant that Everton can now talk with its long observing manager to keep him with Toffees. Since, Everton current manager has already joined Manchester United; there is a vacant place for 39-year-old Spaniard at Goodison Park and after his announcement last month about his intentions to leave Wigan after serving four years at the helm; he became the only contender for Everton’s managerial duties. Now Newcastle Fans retaliated with violence after defeat
In less than 24 hours, English shows another example of how short tempered their fans can be when it comes to accepting a defeat. Yesterday, Millwall fans displayed their aggression on the ground after being defeated by Wigan at Wembley, today, it was the turn of Newcastle fans to show how desperate they were to win a game that was eventually won by Sunderland with a comprehensive 3-0 margin. The defeat brought Newcastle into the relegation cap at EPL while Sunderland’s first triumph in thirteen years at St James' Park gave them a chance to survive at the league. The victory is more a result of hard work done by manager Paolo Di Canio who revived the team to show what they can actually achieve.
