Terry to have a contract extension

October 1, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Generally, it is believed that when a player exceeds a thirty, he is no more a valuable product for any team; hence he has very shunned chances to get a new contract. However, there are some legendry players who overruled this theory and remained a lucrative asset for their respective teams. Once controversial but now a star performer, 32-year-old Chelsea captain John Terry is one such player who can extend his stay at Stamford Bridge if Mourinho’s statement is to be believed. Reportedly, the former Everton manager is highly impressed with the way he is performing at the moment and if he continues in a same way throughout Championship league, manager can offer him another lucrative extension that would tie him for the rest of his career with The Blues. Last premium league season was not so active for the Terry coz he missed several matches, but this season he has shown a completely different level of fitness and dedication that impressed his manager to the core. Mourinho said after he scored an equalizer at Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Tottenham, “He is a very good player, and very good players have no problems with their contracts.

“I think he always has a future the way he is playing — he has a future in here, or wherever he wants to have a future. I have always told him from day one, don’t speak about signing a new contract, just speak about working very hard from a physical point of view so you don’t have the same kind of problems you have had in the past two years, and then you play regularly.”

The match was almost a gone for Chelsea, but somehow, thanks to Terry, they could gain some points out of it and Terry again came into the limelight and got huge applaud from every corner of the stadium. He also thanked fans for their overall support and said, “I took a bit of stick here over the last few years, so that’s for the fans who have supported me over the years.”

Mourinho further praised him and added, “I think the fact that he knows that I like him has been important. In his head, he knows that if I leave him out I am trying to do the best thing for him and the best thing for the team, so he is not under this pressure he was in other years.

“Physically, we are working very well with him. I think he is in good condition and he is a brilliant boy.”
