EPL 2013-14 is around the corner, and every club is trying hard to keep a hold on its key players, especially those ones who have recently been linked with other clubs. Tottenham is one such club who badly needs its star player Gareth Bale, but over last one month, Bale never hinted anything to remain at White Hart Lane. Now, Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is showing his confidence over midfielder and says he has not made any fresh request for a makeshift recently. Actually, Bale has been an eye-candy for Spanish giant who reportedly placed a record bid for him, but neither Villas-Boas nor Bale took it seriously though Bale is said to have made an informal request to club bosses to let him go to Santiago Bernabéu. EPL next season is going to kick start tomorrow and Tottenham first match will be on Sunday against Crystal Palace. Villas-Boas also said Bale will not be available for their first three league matches coz of his foot injury, though he made it clear that player is fine and not in any pressure about his future. Some media houses recently reported that Bale is going through a tough mental stage coz of verbal spats between his club and Real Madrid.
Informing about Bale, Villas-Boas said to reporters, “His mental state nobody knows because the player doesn’t speak. The only thing that we are able to see, or you are able to see, is the player arriving in and out of the training ground. It is fine. It’s fine.” Talking about his latest stand over any transfer possibility for the midfielder, he added, “We have explained to the clubs that have asked for him in various ways that the player is our player. Well at the moment, he hasn’t been involved from the first friendly of the season so pre-season has gone by without him being involved so much. So for Palace, for Tbilisi, for Swansea, he will not be in line to threaten to come back.”
Villas-Boas also informed about their possible agreement with nine times European Champion which was dented after Luka Modric’s move to Spanish giant, he said, “I am not aware because it is something that was involved with contracts between Tottenham and Real Madrid. I am sure there was some kind of protocol agreement for youth levels, for players, I think the option on first loans. I am not sure. So it was agreed with the Modric deal.”
